Research Paper Mind Map
The standard IMRaD structure — Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion — as a mind map. SpawnGraph generates the map for you automatically — drop the paper PDF and the NLP engine structures the content into IMRaD branches. The PDF stays in your browser, which matters for embargoed work and unpublished drafts.
How to use this template
- 1Drop the paper PDF. The file is read locally with the File API.
- 2SpawnGraph applies the IMRaD template. Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion — automatic.
- 3Annotate and compare. Add your own notes, link related papers, share with your supervisor.
Literature review at a glance
Drop multiple papers onto separate branches of the same board and the methods sections become directly comparable. You can see which papers used which instruments, sample sizes, and analyses without flipping between tabs. Useful for systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and any project where you are reading more than three papers on the same question. See the PDF to Mind Map tool for the underlying import flow.
Privacy for embargoed work
The PDF is parsed in your browser using the File API — the bytes do not leave your device. Open DevTools → Network to verify zero network calls during generation. For pre-publication papers, embargoed reports, and any document covered by an NDA, the privacy guarantee is architectural, not a policy promise.
